About Hepler Furniture
Our Guarantee
We design each piece of Hepler furniture for maximum strength and durability,
pleasing proportion and detailing, ergonomic comfort and utility in
service. We use only solid, hand-selected hardwoods. All structural
joints are precision-cut and individually hand-fitted. We sign, date
and number each piece of furniture to ensure authenticity. Because of
the way we design and craft every piece of our furniture, we guarantee
against structural failure under normal use for the lifetime of the
original owner.
Woods
All our designs are available in cherry, maple, tiger maple (15% additional)
or black walnut (15% additional). We will be happy to make our designs
in any appropriate wood to your specifications..
Finishes
We apply a durable, water- and alcohol-proof varnish to all pieces unless
another finish is specified. On all cherry pieces, we first apply a
coat of oil to deepen the color and enhance the natural graining. Whether
we oil walnut, mahogany, maple, oak and specialty wood pieces before
applying the varnish depends on the effect a client wishes to achieve.
Our varnish results in a smooth matte finish that is virtually indistinguishable
from the hand-rubbed oil we used in the past, except that it is very
easy to maintain. Each piece comes with instructions on the care of
its finish for lasting beauty and durability.
Other finish options include our traditional
hand-rubbed oil, clear lacquer, black dye, whitewash and custom staining.
We finish to specifications for a 10% special order charge.
Hardware
We use the highest quality hardware commercially available.
Drawer and door hardware meets our standards for smooth operation and
durability. Standard knobs and pulls are solid brass or hardwood. We
will be happy to incorporate your own or custom hardware.

Terms
We require a 50% deposit with your custom order and the balance upon
completion or prior to shipping. All prices are quoted FOB Chilmark,
MA.
Shipping
We ship smaller pieces by UPS and larger items by freight.
We wrap and box or crate all items by hand to ensure their safe arrival.
Whenever distance makes it feasible, we deliver orders personally. When
your order is complete, we will consult with you about the best way
to get your Hepler furniture to you safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
Our Workshop
& Gallery
We make all our furniture at our design workshop in Chilmark, MA on
the Island of Martha's Vineyard. At the workshop complex we have a gallery
containing examples of most of our popular designs. The gallery is open
